Kelley Blue Book has announced it's Resale Value awards, and for the second straight year, Subaru dominated the mainstream brands.  Subaru won five categories. 

 

KBB director of residual values Eric Ibara says, "...after previously winning the brand award in 2011 and 2015, Subaru is back on top once again for 2016 as the best mainstream brand for resale value across its entire lineup."

 

Subaru won honors for the following categories:

 

Compact car:  Subaru Impreza

 

Mid-size car:  Subaru Legacy

 

Sporty Compact Car:  Subaru WRX

2017 Subaru Impreza Unveiled at LA Auto Show

 

At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Subaru has shown off their 2017 Impreza concept car.  The styling of the car is a nice step forward for Subaru, featuring a sleeker, less chunky look than years past.  The thought is this will be a theme throughout the Subaru line.

 

Being a concept car, the picture above is not the finished product that will be brought to market in the US (fussy Americans will probably want door handles and everything!), but this is expected to be a fairly close estimation of the look.

Subaru is teasing us with new concepts

 

At the Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru is teasing a couple of new concept cars, one being the next-gen Impreza five-door hatchback, and the other being the "Viziv Future Concept.

 

The Viziv Concept previews future technologies, including a next0generation turbocharged engine paired to a hybrid setup.  This would allow for an entirely flat floor, providing more practical space inside the vehicle. 

 

Below is a drawing of the Impreza five-door hatchback concept.  It is expected to have a late 2016 delivery for the 2017 model year.

Some Love from Edmunds for the Subaru Forester

Edmunds.com recently gave the 2016 Subaru Forester a 4.5 (out of 5) star rating.  Edmunds found the Forester to be at the top of the small SUV class in many areas.

 

Safety- Not surprisingly, safety is a strength of the Forester.  Subaru has long been known for their safe vehicles, and the Forester is no exception.  The governments NHTSA gives the Forester their highest (5 star) rating.
