The WRX is Subarus’ classically reliable family car with a
surprise- enough power to satiate a thrill seeker! Not only does he WRX offer
enough space for the family and all of your cargo, but it also features a turbocharged
engine and has killer handling. The WRX has been given a great deal of useful
updates for 2018, and will be starting the year with a new face, a revised
suspension, and finely tuned steering adjustments. Other upgrades for 2018
include thicker glass with better insulation for a quieter cabin and a few new
features for the EyeSight safety package.
The front fascia boasts a more aggressively styled, blacked
out grille that has perfectly sized intakes that adequately add excitement
without evolving into a gaping road kill inhaler. The rest of the WRX flows
back sleekly into a wide open spoiler that gives the WRX an edgier look.
Inside, the refreshed WRX receives a host of revamps;
highlighted by upgraded trim, lower levels of wind and road noise, a larger
multifunction display, more user-friendly door grips and more cup-holders. Standard
features include Subaru’s Starlink infotainment system with a 7.0-inch
touchscreen, 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, front sport seats,
and a rearview camera. These attributes, combined with comfortable seating, a roomy
cabin and excellent visibility, make the WRX just as cozy as it is zippy.
EPA ratings for the 2018 WRX currently stand at 21/27 mpg
for the manual transmission and 18/24 with the CVT. The power from its
turbocharged BOXER engine supplies endless fun at 268 horsepower- with the
manual. The steering and suspension have been revised and tuned for greatly
improved steering stability and ride comfort, along with a revamped electric
power steering for even more doki doki. If youre looking for maximum thrill, go
for the STI trim with the 305 horsepower engine fitted with performance brakes
and suspension.
