Subaru's BRZ- A Relic to Be

2017 Subaru Legacy

                A redesigned version of the Subaru Crosstrek will debut in March at the Geneva International Motor Show, but Subaru doesn’t want us to know much more than that, so it has released just one, photo of the sporty hatchback. , the hood is lower and longer with a flatter front end and reshaped headlights. Similarly, the back bumper and taillights have been restyled, the rear spoiler is smaller and the top portion of the trunk appears to be a bit more spacious. Overall, the Crosstrek redesign is sharper and more chiseled.

                Since debuting in the U.S. in 2012, the Crosstrek has built a respectable following, steadily increasing total sales each year and amassing more than 95,000 in 2016. We are in the midst of a golden age, both for crossovers and the Subaru brand. With a fresh look in 2018, the Crosstrek just might make a push for the number one spot.

                The XV will be based on the new global platform used for the redesigned Impreza that went on sale in late 2016. 2017 Subaru Forester

                Taking a page from Mercedes and the styling of the G-class SUVs, Subaru has moved to re-designing the new 2017 Forester to have a more boxy appearance. So like the old Huey Lewis and The News song, it is Hip To Be Square.

                The new Subaru Forester, like all previous models comes standard with all-wheel drive. It is available in trim levels: 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, 2.0XT Premium, 2.5i Touring, and 2.0XT Touring. The Forester 2.5i and 2.5i Premium both come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, while the other four models are equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) at standard.  The CVT-equipped 2.5i, 2.5 Premium, 2.5i Limited, and 2.5i Touring models all see their 2017 fuel economy rise to 26 mpg city and 32 mpg highway.

                The Subaru Forester got a bunch of updates in this mid-cycle refresh. Most noticeable is the exterior, which most noticeable the boxier feel to the rear half of the SUV. The front of the vehicle received a new grille, new front fascia and a new headlight design. And in the back, redesigned LED taillights. All trims received new redesigned wheels and a rear spoiler, and optional is a power lift gate. Inside the New Subaru Forester, things are mostly the same. Changes include a new steering wheel and saddle-brown interior on the 2.5i Touring model. The 2.5i Touring also gets a heated steering wheel.

                Harder to spot are changes to the Forester’s optional EyeSight safety system. Available on 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, 2.5i Touring, and 2.0XT Touring trims, EyeSight’s windshield-header-mounted color cameras now have a wider and longer field of vision. Opting for EyeSight on Limited and Touring models also brings automatic high-beam headlights and reverse-automatic-braking to the table, the latter of which can automatically stop the vehicle if it detects an imminent collision while reversing. Meanwhile, Forester Limited and Touring models now come standard with a blind-spot monitor, as do Premium trims equipped with EyeSight. Swiveling LED headlights are newly available and come standard on the Touring, as well as the Limited when optioned with EyeSight.
